APOLOGY
Following consultation between the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses (ACMHN) and The Congress of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nurses and Midwives (CATSINaM) a formal statement of apology will be delivered by the outgoing ACMHN President Professor Michael Hazelton and ACMHN CEO Mr Adrian Armitage to the First Nations Peoples of this land.
The apology will be received by the CEO of CATSINaM, Dr Ali Drummond on behalf of the Board.
Our Apology is offered as the collective voice of Mental Health Nurses throughout Australia in recognition of our part in the harms and pains that have been experienced by First Nation Peoples in the mental health context. We wish to come together with our First Nations nursing colleagues (represented by CATSINaM) in demonstration and declaration of our commitment to reconciliation.
We warmly invite all delegates to attend this important occasion.
